Scars To Your Beautiful
by Brooke Kaye
A few weeks ago I was really bullied online. From people I didn't know. People that really judged my intentions about an article posted about me and my experience with a stranger. I was called many things – terrible mother – you have a bratty child – spoiled rich white girl – this woman needs to grow up – you're ugly – I really don't like you and I don't even know you – you're not a good Christian example. That's just to name a few of the messages I received. It hit me hard. Harder than I thought it would. I have spent some time really reflecting, and how so many people are bullied like this face to face. Every. Single. Day. This song hit me. I got it. I understood it.
"And you don't have to change a thing, the world can change it's heart. You're beautiful."
The world can tell you many things. The world can be evil. God made you unique. He made you like no one else, because we are ALL supposed to be different. We have different interests – some are good at sports, some can sing, some are amazing dancers, maybe you're a really good artist, maybe you have the gift of being an amazing inspirational writer or speaker. The world would be a boring place if we were all the same.
Please EMBRACE being different. EMBRACE you. EMBRACE your talents, because if you're reading this – YOU ARE SPECIAL. YOU ARE WORTHY. AND THE WORLD CAN CHANGE IT'S HEART. You aren't the problem. God didn't make a mistake when he made you. He made you because he created you for HIS plans, and HIS plans are always PERFECT.
"I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:14
